Rachel has visited a brand-new baby and kids store which has opened in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.
Last Friday (May 10th), Rachel visited Unicorn Baby and met with store owner Veysi Bayar.
The independent store sells baby clothes up to three years, nursery furniture and bedding, pushchairs and car seats, bathing essentials, changing accessories and toys.
There hasn't been a shop exclusively for babies and children in the town centre since Mothercare closed down.
Rachel said: “Independent businesses are the backbone of our economy, so it was great to meet with Veysi and to visit his brand-new store in the Kingfisher. It’s always a positive sign when you see new businesses opening and I wish Veysi all the very best.
“I’m pleased to see the Government is continuing to support small businesses with the cost of their business rates through a £4.3 billion package of support. It was great to hear from Veysi about how his business has benefitted from this support. He told me it was the difference between opening his new store and not opening his store.
“It’s all part of our plan to make Redditch the best place to start, scale up, and grow a business.”
