Rachel has welcomed further Government funding to help vulnerable residents with the cost of living.
In the Spring Budget, the Government announced it is providing an additional £500 million to enable the extension of the Household Support Fund from April to September 2024.
Following the extension, Worcestershire County Council has received a further £3,949,139.19 in funding to provide support to vulnerable families who are struggling with the cost of living.
Rachel has previously held cost of living drop-in events to ensure her constituents are claiming and receiving the help they’re entitled to.
This funding takes the total level of support provided to Worcestershire residents to £23,694,835.19, demonstrating the Government’s commitment to support the most vulnerable in times of financial hardship.
Rachel said: “I know the cost of living remains a top concern for many residents, which is why the Government continues to provide targeted support for families with our £94 billion cost of living package, worth £3,300 on average per household.
“As part of that targeted support, the Household Support Fund has been extended until September, providing help to vulnerable households with the cost of essentials such as food and utilities while inflation continues to fall.”
