Rachel has welcomed progress on a transformational Government funded youth community centre project in Woodrow.
Last year, Your Ideas was awarded £1.4 million from the Government’s Youth Investment Fund to transform its Bengrove Close site into a brand-new youth and community centre.
Rachel threw her support behind Your Ideas’ Youth Investment Fund bid and worked hard to lobby Ministers to secure this funding.
The youth and community centre will have a large kitchen, arts room, recreational room, sports hall, outdoor tarmacked ball game area and garden area that will be open to all young people and members of the community.
Building work commenced in November 2023 and is expected to be completed by May/June 2024.
On Friday (January 12th), Rachel and Cllr Emma Marshall visited the site to get an update on the work from Jordan Cooke and Mick Fitzgerald from Your Ideas.
Rachel said:
“The transformation of Your Ideas’ Bengrove Close site really is levelling up in action. It isn’t just talk; this is real money which will transform the lives of children and young people in Woodrow and across Redditch.
“I’m proud it’s a Conservative Government delivering this £1.4 million funding, and I will continue to work hard to secure more investment in our town.”
Emma Marshall, Councillor for Greenlands, Woodrow and Wirehill, added:
“I'm thrilled to see the progress of the Hub. I can't wait to see its completion as I know just how much residents will benefit from the fantastic services Your Ideas provide our young people.”
