Rachel has visited Arrow Vale High School which has been selected to take part in the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme.
Last year, the Matchborough school, rated as ‘Outstanding by Ofsted,’ was selected as one of the latest 239 schools that will be rebuilt or substantially refurbished as part of the programme.
The programme delivers on the Government’s commitment to level up opportunity around the country by giving every child access to the best classrooms, wherever they go to school.
The funding for Arrow Vale High School will help to deliver state-of-the-art learning environments for pupils.
The new buildings will be more energy efficient for future winter resilience, helping schools keep bills down and meeting the country’s Net Zero commitments.
Rachel visited Arrow Vale on Friday (November 17th) where she met with Executive Principal Ian Mellor and Student Ambassadors Tashantie Thomas and Macey Carlin-Grasby.
Rachel said:
“Thank you to the School Ambassadors for showing me round. It was clear to see how proud they are to be an Arrow Vale student.
“Ever since I was first elected, I have been working closely with the Government to secure more investment in our schools – and that’s exactly what we’re seeing.
“From the total core schools budget set to reach its highest level in history next year to Arrow Vale being selected to take part in the School Rebuilding Programme, I’m delivering on the promises that I’ve made to my constituents.”
