Rachel, local Councillors and Persimmon are working together to find ‘workable solutions’ to road safety concerns by Holyoakes Field First School.
At a meeting today (April 26th), Rachel brought together Councillors Matt Dormer, Lucy Harrison, Brandon Clayton and Salman Akbar, representatives from Persimmon Homes and the Headteacher of Holyoakes Field First School.
It follows Rachel’s visit to the newly built school last year where she saw first-hand the road safety concerns along Cookridge Close and surrounding roads.
A clear plan of action was agreed at the meeting, with all those in attendance committing to working together to resolve the issues which are blighting the lives of parents and residents.
Rachel said:
“It was a positive and constructive meeting, and I’m grateful to Persimmon for wanting to work with the school and the council to find workable solutions to the issues parents and residents are facing.
“As a next step, Persimmon has agreed to send representatives to Holyoakes Field First School to observe the problems first-hand as part of the commitment to find a resolution which works for the school and for local residents.
“I believe we are now heading in the right direction, and I will continue to make sure progress is made in tackling this issue.”
Lucy Harrison, Councillor for Batchley and Brockhill, added:
“I’m really pleased Rachel was able to get everyone around the virtual table and I hope to see some tangible progress with Persimmon now actively looking for solutions.”
