Rachel has met with the Health Minister to discuss the Three Counties Medical School.
She joined MPs from Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire at the meeting with the Minister for Health and Secondary Care, Will Quince, today (March 15th).
They discussed the medical school which is due to open in Worcester this September. Doctors will be trained at the brand-new facility, with the hope the doctors trained in Worcestershire will stay and work in the County.
Rachel has long supported the Three Counties Medical School as it is a central part of her plan to return services to the Alexandra Hospital as set out in her reports on returning a maternity and children’s service.
Following the meeting, Rachel said:
“I’m grateful for the Minister’s time to discuss the Three Counties Medical School.
“As I set out in my reports on how I believe we can return a maternity and children’s service to the Alex, training doctors locally is a key part of my plan.
“I’m leaving no stone unturned in the fight to return these vital services to our hospital.”
