As part of the Government’s £350 million investment across the country to provide earlier scans and diagnoses to reduce waiting lists, a mobile MRI scanner was delivered to the Alexandra Hospital in January and will be followed by a mobile CT scanner later this month.
Both scanners are in addition to the permanent MRI and CT scanners already in place at the hospital.
These scanners will provide approximately 4,300 patients with faster access to diagnostic tests and earlier diagnoses.
Rachel said:
“We know that waiting lists have grown as a result of the pandemic, and so this latest government investment in the Alex will provide more of my constituents, and patients from across the county, with faster access to diagnostic tests and earlier diagnoses.
“It is yet another sign of the vital role the Alex plays in the delivery of healthcare in Worcestershire. The Alex has a bright future ahead of it and our hospital will continue to benefit from investment.”
