Rachel is urging residents to share their views ahead of a parliamentary debate on transport in the West Midlands.
The MP for Redditch and the Villages has secured a Westminster Hall debate next Wednesday (May 8th) on Government funding for transport in the West Midlands.
Ahead of the debate, residents can share their views on local transport with Rachel. She will then share them during the debate in which a Transport Minister will have to respond to the points made.
Rachel said: “Improving local transport is a key part of my plan for Redditch and the Villages because I know how important it is for residents wherever they live, so I’m pleased to have secured a debate on Government funding for transport in the West Midlands.
“People need to travel for work, leisure and visiting family. It’s vital for daily life, and I want to make sure people can do it as cheaply and easily as possible.
“We’ve seen our bus services receive £6.2 million in Government funding in recent years, as well as £139,243,000 in reallocated HS2 funding over the next 10 years to improve local roads in Worcestershire.
“This is all great and welcome, but I want to hear what more the Government is doing to support local transport and to share my constituents’ views with the Transport Minister.”
