Rachel has been praised for her “enormous campaigning” which has delivered millions of pounds in Government funding to level up Redditch.
During Culture, Media and Sport questions in the House of Commons today (May 23rd), Rachel highlighted the £16.6 million Town Deal Redditch has received and the £5 million to level up arts and culture in the town, demonstrating the Conservative Government’s commitment to levelling up Redditch.
The local MP also highlighted the £382,311 the Abbey Stadium has received from the Government’s Swimming Pool Support Fund and asked the Minister for Sport, Gambling and Civil Society, Stuart Andrew, about how this funding will help to boost residents’ physical and mental health.
Minister Andrew said: “I pay tribute to her for the enormous campaigning she has done on behalf of her constituents in Redditch in securing that significant investment.
“I agree that getting people active is vital to improving their physical and mental health. That is exactly why we are investing this historic amount of money in grassroots facilities and have published the new “Get Active” strategy, which sets out our ambition to get 3.5 million more people active by 2030.”
Rachel said: “Huge Government investment in Redditch has been secured in recent years – and this doesn’t just happen – it takes vociferous campaigning and lobbying to deliver real results.
“I believe the multi-million pound funding I have secured will help us to unlock Redditch’s full potential and deliver a brighter future for local families.”
