Rachel has hailed the “life-changing support” the brand new Community Hub at the Town Hall will provide.
The Town’s MP recently met with Cllr Matt Dormer, Leader of Redditch Borough Council, to discuss plans for a range of accessible public services to be provided for residents under one roof at the Town Hall.
Last month, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust started to relocate some of their community mental health and children’s services into the Town Hall, occupying parts of the ground and first floor.
The ground floor Council Chamber and Civic Suite will move to the second floor to allow more space to be utilised by partners, paving the way for the creation of the Community Hub.
Following the public consultation which is still underway, if Worcestershire County Council decides to relocate the library to the Town Hall, it will result in Redditch getting an exciting modern library facility for residents with a more usable, accessible space.
The Plaza makes up just part of Redditch’s successful £16.6 million Town Deal, with £4 million of the pot going to this project.
The ambitious regeneration plans also includes the development of a new digital manufacturing and innovation centre, public realm improvements and a brand new £10 million Railway Station.
Rachel said:
“It’s great to see construction is already underway on the brand new Community Hub at the Town Hall.
“It will see more local and essential services provided in one place, ensuring my constituents receive life-changing support all under one roof.
“We’re turning talk into action as we deliver on our exciting plans for the desperately needed regeneration of our town centre to unlock Redditch’s full potential.”
