Rachel has raised residents’ concerns with the local policing inspector.
The meeting with Inspector Rich Field took place following the results of Rachel’s crime and anti-social behaviour survey.
Hundreds of residents took part and made clear the issues they believe local police should be focussing on.
The top three issues residents identified the police should focus on includes tackling anti-social behaviour, violent crime and knife crime, and burglaries and robberies.
At their meeting, Rachel and Inspector Field discussed the public space protection order in the town centre and more resources being deployed to the town centre in response to concerns raised by residents and businesses.
Rachel said:
“Keeping our streets safe is a top priority for me and for the Government, and so it’s my job as the local MP to raise residents’ concerns with our local police.
Inspector Field is proactive in responding to residents’ concerns and his officers have taken action to address to them.
It’s important residents always report crimes to the police to ensure justice can be done and to keep our streets and communities safe.”
With police officer numbers at a record high in West Mercia and with Redditch getting a new police station, I’m confident our brave officers will continue to keep our streets safe.”
