Rachel has met with the new Chief Executive of the local Acute Trust to discuss the Alexandra Hospital.
It’s the first time Redditch’s MP has met with Glen Burley since his appointment as Chief Executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.
At the meeting last Friday (November 3rd), the pair to discussed recent multi-million-pound investments in the hospital, as well as Rachel’s continuing campaign to secure the return of a maternity and children’s service to the Alex.
Recent investments in the Alex includes the £18.8 million operating theatre complex, a £3.9 million expansion of endoscopy services, a brand-new Breast Imaging Unit, state-of-the-art robot-assisted surgery and the return of the Garden Suite.
Rachel said:
“It was a positive and constructive meeting and I look forward to working with Glen on the bright future ahead for the Alex.
“That bright future includes the multi-million-pound investments we’re seeing in our hospital, but I also made clear during our meeting that I will be continuing to campaign for the return of a maternity and children’s service to the Alex.
“As my Long-Term Plan for the Delivery of Health and Social Care promises, I won’t stop fighting until that has been achieved.”
