Rachel has met with the Levelling Up Minister to discuss the Levelling Up Fund.
The meeting took place following the disappointing news that Redditch Borough Council’s bid to the second round of the Levelling Up Fund was unsuccessful.
Levelling Up Minister Dehenna Davison confirmed to Rachel there will be a third round of funding and encouraged Redditch to bid again.
Rachel said:
“Of course I was disappointed that our bid was unsuccessful in the second round, but the Government will be providing Redditch Borough Council with detailed feedback in order to improve and strengthen our case for when we bid again in the third round.
“It’s important to say there were many places that missed out in the first round, but were successful in the second.
“I think I’ve demonstrated recently that I’m capable of delivering results and that I will never stop fighting for Redditch.
“I will work with the Borough Council to submit an improved bid and I remain optimistic and hopeful that we’ll be successful next time round.
“In the meantime, we’re turning talk into action by delivering our £16.6 million Town Deal – one of the single largest Government investments in Redditch since it became a New Town.”
