“I will always back our farmers” Rachel has said after meeting with local farmers.
Rachel joined members of the National Farmers Union at a farm in Hanbury to discuss the challenges facing local farmers and the opportunities available to them.
It comes as farmers and foresters in the constituency have been awarded £126,373 in Government funding to boost farm productivity, reduce waste and cut costs. It’s also hoped the funding will increase environmental sustainability and improve slurry management.
The funding forms part of the Government’s manifesto commitment to invest £2.4 billion per year in farming for the rest of this Parliament.
Rachel said:
“I will always back our farmers, and I’ve done so ever since I was first elected.
“From speaking to local farmers, I’m aware of the challenges they face, but also the opportunities available to them. I will continue to support them and to raise their concerns with the Government.”
