Rachel has called on local health bosses to set out the timetable for the Garden Suite’s return to the Alexandra Hospital.
In February, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust committed to returning the chemotherapy unit to the Alex following its relocation to Kidderminster Hospital during the pandemic.
Rachel led a hard-fought campaign to secure the return of the Garden Suite which included a petition being signed by more than 8,000 residents.
In a letter to the Chief Executive of the Acute Trust, Matthew Hopkins, Rachel has called on him to layout a detailed plan setting out when chemotherapy patients will once again receive their treatment at the Alex.
Rachel said:
“I remain grateful the Trust has made the pledge to return the Garden Suite following mine and my constituents hard fought campaign, but we must now have a timetable for its return.
“I know there has been lots of work underway to make this a reality and that progress is being made.
“However, I believe it is only fair to all of those who need this facility to lay out a detailed plan that which will give them a solid idea of when they will see the return of this vital service to the Alex.”
