The former Mayor of the West Midlands has joined Rachel on the campaign trail in Redditch.
Andy Street and the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Redditch and the Villages spoke to residents in Church Hill North on Monday evening (June 17th).
Andy Street said: “It’s lovely to be in your town Rachel. And I say it that way because the overwhelming reactions, whatever people think about national politics, they recognise that you have been the champion of this town over the last few years, particularly the work you’ve done with the hospital, with the town centre.
And Andy had his say on what voting Reform means.
“I think I’m the man to ask about that,” Andy said.
“So I’ve just lost my election in the West Midlands very narrowly by 1,500. And when I lost, the then leader of Reform UK went on the tele and said, ‘we defeated the Tory Mayor of the West Midlands.’ They delivered a Labour Mayor of the West Midlands and they’re proud of it. It couldn’t be clearer in my case.
“But my message is you have got some incredible support for what you’ve done locally.”
Rachel added: “A big thank you to Andy for joining us in Redditch. He was an incredibly successful Mayor of the West Midlands, and he knows more than a most what voting for Reform means.
“I have a clear plan for Redditch and the Villages and a record of delivering real results. With your support, I hope to be able to continue this work should I be given the huge honour of being re-elected.”
