To mark the 70th birthday of the NHS this year, Rachel Maclean, MP for Redditch County, is urging residents to help in her search for local NHS heroes to nominate for prestigious Parliamentary awards.
The NHS70 Parliamentary Awards will take place this July to celebrate the work of our dedicated NHS staff and those who work alongside them. There are 10 awards in total and Rachel is asking residents to come forward with nominations she can submit.
The award judges are looking for outstanding nominees who have innovated, impressed and made a real difference to how the NHS provides care for patients. Nominees could be an individual, a team or an entire organisation. Nominations are open to anyone who works for or with the NHS, and they don’t have to be on the frontline or in clinical roles either. Around 60 per cent of the NHS workforce perform vital but often unseen roles.
Although the nominations process does not officially launch until Wednesday, February 7, residents are urged to start thinking now about who they could nominate.
Rachel said: “I need residents’ help in my search to find Redditch NHS heroes to nominate for one of the prestigious NHS70 Parliamentary Awards.
“Every single nurse, doctor, cleaner, hospital porter and those behind the scenes at our Alex are so deserving of one of these awards, and so I’m certain residents will know someone or even an entire department at our town’s hospital who should be nominated for going above and beyond in helping them in their time of need.”
For more information on the awards and the nominations process please visit: www.nhs70awards.co.uk/. There is a template letter on the awards website which constituents should use to submit their nominations which should then be sent to Rachel at either [email protected] or Rachel Maclean MP, Grosvenor House, Prospect Hill, Redditch B97 4DL.
