Rachel Maclean, MP for Redditch County, has praised the amazing dedication of staff and local residents who have helped keep the Alexandra Hospital running through the extreme winter weather conditions earlier in the week.
“I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to our dedicated hospital staff who helped keep our hospital services running throughout the challenging wintry conditions of the last few days,” she said.
“Staff, local residents and volunteers at our Alex went above and beyond and made difficult journeys through the snow to get into work. Many worked when they were not even on duty, others stayed on well past the end of their shifts and in some cases slept in the hospital overnight.
“They are all heroes and the whole community are extremely grateful.”
