I'd like to thank the Association for putting their trust in me to stand as the Conservative Candidate in the General Election on June 8th. I will be standing with Theresa May to give her the strong hand she needs to negotiate the Brexit that is best for us here in Redditch and Redditch County.
I'm West Midlands born and bred and my background is in business. I'm a technology entrepreneur who has built two businesses in Birmingham and know the challenges of juggling work and family. I also founded the Skilled and Ready charity to help young people prepare for the world of work.
I've always been driven by making a contribution through voluntary service in my community. I served for 15 years as a Scout Leader, as a school governor, an NCT group leader, and I've helped drive the start up and fundraising of the new LoveBrum charity.
I've a decade of campaigning experience across the Midlands supporting Councillors and MPs who make a real difference in their communities. I Co-Chaired Andy Street's winning West Midlands Mayor campaign. He will lead the West Midlands combined authority of which Redditch is a non-constituent member.
I'm married to David, we have four grown children, and in my spare time I love walking my dog in the hills and mountains of England, Wales and Scotland, running, swimming and yoga, and last year I ran the Birmingham Half Marathon.
It is a huge privilege to be selected as the Theresa May's local Conservative candidate for Redditch at the General Election, just a month away.
If I am elected as your MP on 8th June, I will be a fighter for every community in the constituency, working tirelessly to deliver strong and stable leadership for the people of Redditch county.
Rachel Maclean
Conservative Candidate for Redditch County
