Rachel has revealed the results of her immigration survey which show residents back the Government’s plans to stop the boats and tackle illegal migration.
Of those who took part in the survey, 52% said they support the Government’s plan to process migrants in Rwanda who have illegally entered the UK.
66% of survey respondents said they support the principle of the offshore processing of migrants.
And 78% of those who completed the survey agreed with Rachel’s view that immigration should be based on the needs of the UK’s economy.
Rachel said:
“Whilst Redditch is a welcoming and tolerant town which always plays its role in helping refugees, a record I’m proud of, there is a clear difference between helping the world’s most in need and economic migration.
“The results from my immigration survey clearly show that residents back the Government’s plans to stop the boats by deporting migrants to Rwanda who have illegally entered our country.
“To me the results aren’t surprising, but it demonstrates yet again that the opposition are out of touch with the people of Redditch on the issue of immigration.
“Whilst I’ve been backing the Government’s plan, Labour have consistently fought to oppose it every step of the way. Labour has no plan, but yet they’re happy to snipe from the sidelines.
“Meanwhile, I will continue to support the Government’s work to stop the boats and reduce migration into the UK.”
