Rachel has praised the progress made in developing a brand-new Community Hub in Redditch.
Currently under construction at the Town Hall, the Community Hub is bringing together a range of public services, ensuring residents can access vital help and support all under one roof.
NHS Talking Therapies and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services was one of the first organisations to move into the Hub. Rachel officially opened their new facilities last October. This section of the Hub has been fully renovated to an exacting standard and features bespoke treatment rooms, consulting rooms, open-plan office space, and several meeting rooms.
Other public services will be moving to the Community Hub including the Department for Work and Pensions.
The council chambers where public meetings are held will go upstairs, as will council staff. There will also be shared rooms that will be available for use by community groups.
The Community Hub forms a major part of the Redditch Conservatives’ ambitious plans to regenerate the town centre.
Backed by the Conservative Government’s £15.6 million Town Deal, the library will be relocated to the Town Hall to make way for a new public plaza and events space with associated commercial development and opportunities to improve connectivity between the Kingfisher Shopping Centre and Redditch's historic town centre.
Rachel said: “Residents rightly want great local services, but they also want to see sensible council tax and the development of the Community Hub achieves that.
“Because of the Conservative-controlled Borough Council’s decision to invest in the Hub, the Council is able to generate new income and continue providing great services for local residents.
“Most importantly residents will be able to access vital help and support all under one roof.”
