With only a few weeks to go until the Great British Spring Clean, Rachel is urging local residents to organise a spring clean to help spruce up where they live.
Environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy’s annual national clean-up is back between the 2nd and 4th of March in a bid to help us all do our bit to reduce the litter blighting our communities.
Last year the campaign saw more #LitterHeroes than ever collect a staggering 70,000 wheelie bins of rubbish over one weekend. More than 300,000 people got involved, cleaned up their local streets, parks and beaches.
This year organisers of the UK-wide clean up want even more people to get involved.
Church Hill residents are already getting involved by holding a spring clean on Sunday, March 4, between 1pm and 3pm, but Rachel is encouraging even more of her constituents to organise their own litter picks.
Rachel said: “We all live in such a beautiful area, but unfortunately a minority of people are blighting our streets and countrywide by dropping litter.
“I hope residents will join me in tackling this increasing problem and help rid our streets of unwanted rubbish.”
Individuals, groups, families, schools, businesses and clubs can all sign up and make a difference by registering at www.keepbritaintidy.org/gbspringclean.
