Rachel attended the annual Armed Forces Day Parade in Redditch on Saturday (24 June).
Armed Forces Day, which takes place on the last Saturday in June each year, is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community - from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets.
In Redditch the celebrations took the form of a parade from the Town Hall to the War Memorial outside St Stephens Church. There a short service was held before participants walked back to the Town Hall for refreshments. Members of the Royal British Legion, cadets, the Mercian Regiment and 37 Signals Reserve Regiment took part, and Rachel was joined by Conservative borough councillors from Redditch.
Rachel said: “This marked the beginning of a busy Saturday for me, and my first in the constituency as newly-elected MP.
“The Armed Forces in this country carry out an essential and fantastic job in protecting us from the forces of evil, and they have my wholehearted support all year round.
“It was also a wonderful chance to meet up with some of the people of the town and to take part in my first important civic event.”
