I am passionate about making sure we protect our planet's endangered species and ensure their plight remains on the political agenda of the Government.

As Chair of this APPG, my colleagues and I will be working with experts, NGOs and politicians from around the world to seek and influence the development and introduction of effective wide-ranging global agreements, and making sure they are enforced.

Rachel Maclean, MP for Redditch County, has heralded Government plans to ban the sale of ivory in the UK as a huge success story.  Proposals announced on Friday (6 October) will protect elephants and help combat poaching by removing opportunities for criminals to trade illegally-poached ivory.
